Wednesday 20th December 2017

Today we will be talking about your medieval buildings. In your town a building will be important. As in minecraft there are many biomes then you need different styles. In this blog we will discuss 4 biome surrounding styles. Desert, Grass plains, Extreme hills and swampland. Its important that before you build your castle you have to adapt to your surroundings and look like you actually live there. The ones we will discuss today are listed above. So first, we have Desert.

The desert medieval town should be made mostly of sandstone and stone. If there is a jungle or wood nearby wood can be used as well. Carpets can be used for shade in shops and other places. Fort walls can be made to protect the village but not a castle. Apart from sandcastles there aren't enough castles made of sand to look realistic. Maybe a simple tower that looks over the village. Also, don't use glass. It may be made of sand but  you can't use it. As well as that, If your village is near the sea, you can use wood and stone bricks and glass. But as sand dissolves near water do not put the sandstone buildings too close. Now, hopefully we can go on to the next biome...

Grass plains can use anything. But since the bricks are a lot, I will tell you a few that you cannot use. Clay bricks, Ender  bricks, Nether bricks (not including netherrack), or any type of grass (apart from grass). Grass plains are the most common biome in the minecraft world. Since it can be near any biome you can add almost anything in (apart from End and Nether blocks). Since it is also the flattest biome as well as the top of extreme mountains, you can have a lot of space to build which is good when you have big buildings like towns and castle keeps and cathedrals. Some main wood you could use is oak and birch, as they always grow in grassy plains randomly. Since the grass plains is finished lets move on.

Extreme hills biome. Looks a bit like the Trotternish hillside in Scotland. This is a high-ish peak with rocks surrounding it. The biome, not the landmark. A good place. First, lots of stone to build your castle. Secondly, a  high place and flat surface makes it a great place to look on your enemies as they approach. Also, Your kingdom would be rich in currency as valuable and rare emeralds, diamonds and lapis lazuli are commonly found in the Extreme hills biome. A great place to build a classic castle on a hill. Also, as Taiga biomes grow nearby, its a fantastic place to make spruce planks. And you can easily camouflage into the hills as the enemies probably will not even get to the top and castles are usually made of stone=brilliant camouflage! The next biome is probably a bit of an opposite...

A swampland biome is unlikely to build a castle, but you can. Its more of the houses that are a problem. Swamp are muddy areas and if you want your village in a swamp or a bit over the sea then you need wooden supports. But the path over the area of water will have to be made of wood but on land its usually gravel. Cathedrals must be on land. A cathedral is useful in a swamp as that is where witches spawn in minecraft the most. There are also slimes that can destroy things so a heavily fortified swamp land is best. Mossy things are best for this. Vines also.as there is a lot of vines and moss in the swamps it will rather well camouflage. Well, I hope you liked this blog so Bye!👋👋

Tuesday 19th December 2017

Yesterday we were talking about style of castle keeps. Today I'll tell you some blocks to use.

First, Defence castles. This theme should be mostly dark or unfriendly colours. It's also made from very hard tough mostly TNT proof bricks. Bricks should include obsidian and bedrock as these are the toughest and unfriendly looking blocks in the game. A wood for this would be the Dark Oak. Coal ore and soul sand are also very good choices. Soul sand is sort of quick sand and it slows creatures down. And small creatures could actually suffocate where its name, soul sand, is really useful as it takes their lives. Stone is a hard object and coal is dark so coal ore is very good for this design.

Next, we have ornamental castles. These castles are more bling than defence. For super maximum bling you need shiny and jolly and bright bricks. These include Diamond blocks, glowstone, Gold blocks, Iron blocks, redstone ore, coloured glass panes, coloured clay, nether quartz and quartz. Glowstone is glowing stone and redstone ore is famous for glowing when it is hit. Coloured glass is good for cathedral windows. For the walls of the keep they could be made from diamond as it is one of the most valuable and hardest substances in the world.

Finally we have an old castle look for your keep. For this you need to have mossy stone bricks, cracked stone bricks, stone bricks cobblestone and cobblestone walls. Then it looks like its been around for ages. If you want it to look very old then you can make a castle keep with the bricks, make a few holes in it  and it looks really ancient. ( warning-do not have wood or objects made of wood. They should have rotted away by how old it is. ) The bracket warning doesn't apply to old castles that don't have holes in them. hope you enjoyed the guide! See you soon!🏰

Monday 18th December 2017

Today I'm going to give you some tips on your castle keep. If you read my blog yesterday I told you what a castle keep is. Now I can show you some features inside your castle keep. Usually, to build you have to start at them bottom so lets do that. Lets see a basic dungeon.

I have a map for you. It shows a dungeon or underground prison for the bad people in your kingdom. The beds are watched by the guards at the guard post and when its time to eat they can go through the iron gates to the tables. The place to access the dungeon is that staircase there. When you finish your dungeon you can move on to the next step. Lets build the ground floor.

Next we have the ground floor. On the ground floor you have the entrance, The table and some banners. You can craft your own banners. The main entrance is to your design. As is every other floor of your castle. But what you do need in your castle I can tell you. I can also list some designs for you.

OK, so in your castle keep I have some rooms for you.

Must-haves

  • kitchen
  • banquet hall
  • royal throne hall
  • royal beds
Should-haves
  • Library
  • Armoury
  • roof terrace (no plants)
  • enchantment room
  • Bathroom
Could-haves
  • royal stables
  • Servants bedrooms
  • guest bedrooms
Now for the style. One style is Germanic style where it has lots of light-coloured bricks and towers, or a defensible castle with dark coloured bricks and lots of weapons. If invaders are a problem, you can have the heavy defences castle keep which is lots of dark bricks, preferably obsidian or nether brick, with very small, enclosed towers, so a small chance that somebody will shoot your soldiers and prevent them from defending the castle. On my opinion, the heavy defence is best for online players but for NPC* worlds the benevolent Germanic style would do nicely. I hope you enjoyed this guide. See you soon!

*NPC stands for No Player Castle

Sunday 17th December 2017

Sorry I have not written a Blog for 3 months. Many of them aren't that exciting but this time it might be exciting. I have a plan to build a Minecraft Medieval town. And I have a few tips on how to plan one. I think they are really good tips and I hope you find these tips very useful.

First of all, and by my standard the most important bit, you plan the size of your town. If you do not and you build you wall before building the town, you might regret and demolish the wall and this is very boring, time-consuming and most of all, annoying and you don't want to end up like this: 😥. Before you start building you may want to research what style you want to build your town as there are many. The main buildings are in a list for you. You don't need them all but a good town would.

Must-haves

  • Village buildings
  • Farm
  • Shops
Should-haves

  • Market square
  • Docks
  • Tavern
  • Bridge ( Depends if it has a river )
  • Stables
  • Barracks
Could-haves

  • Cathedral
  • Flags
  • Noticeboards
  • Well
  • Guard posts
  • Storage holds
  • Signs
This is also a rule for this. You can't have anything from more than the 15th century AD. If your asking why, picture this: Henry V on an aeroplane with knights and a cellphone and playing Slither.io on an Ipad. Not very likely, is it?

Anyways, after you create the village you can ( on your opinion-fine by me ) make the castle keep. The castle keep is basically the castle you see in disneyland or the tower of London.Image result for disneyImage result for london tower
Its that bit behind the walls, O.K? After you build that, then you build your outer walls. Remember, when you turn a wall in a different direction, on the corner you make something called a turret which is really just a tower. Build yourself a red clay line where you will build your wall. If in a desert or mesa biome you must use blue clay. Then when you build your town an you're happy where everything is then you can put those details if you want. I'll update my blog in a few days when I start this minecraft medieval town and tell you what I've done and tell you all about it. Cheerio for now!👋

Tuesday 1st August

Today I dissected a wasp nest. Now, first, don't try this at home. Unless you happen to have found some wasp nests in your garden. And all the wasps are dead.

So, first of all,  me and mum went into the shed and cut the nest off. We did eventually cut it off, but in the process, the sharp bit of the scalpel got wedged in the centre of the nest. when we got back to the kitchen mum looked for pincers and behind her back I got the sharp bit out and when mum turned around again, I was holding it in my fingers!

Then in the dissection, I compared the two nests with a Lego man. you could probably fit your head. No, wait, correction. You could fit your FACE in it. It turns out, in the bottom there is a hole which they fly into, and then a little area beneath the hatching area. Then there are 4 big ares for the baby wasps to hatch. That's all I learnt from the wasp nest. Bye!

Wednesday 24th May 2017

Today I got a certificate for writing a brilliant story. It had punctuation, extremely good words, and leads directly to the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. Plus, with your certificates you get a prize and I chose some Lego, which is strange since the average Lego set is £20.00. Anyway, after assembly we had maths and we made a bar chart of what the main hair colour in the class is. The other groups did other things such as breakfast or how we get to school. Then we wrote a diary entry pretending we were evacuees in the countryside. Then it was lunch. Luckily it was macaroni cheese. After lunch we had some other lessons and then finally, I went to after school club.
Image result for macaroni cheeseImage result for macaroni cheeseImage result for macaroni cheese
At after school club I played skittle ball and managed to get 10 people out in 30 minutes. Very good, considering the chances of getting someone 3 times in a row is 1 in 100. After the first hour and a half we ate dinner and it was tasty chicken and rice. I ate all of it. Then I went outside and played ping pong. I won the game a lot of the time and finally the score came to 100-90 to me. Then I went home with dad and showed mum and dad my certificates. I had a brilliant day!

Sunday 14th May 2017

Today I went to granny and granddad's. First of all I drove my remote control car and Charlie tried to catch it. Then I played a bit on the WII U and managed to get my MII character on the leader board of the snowball challenge. Next I had lunch. I ate sausages in bacon, chicken, tomatoes and a teeny tiny potato. I'm not sure dad knew I had that tiny potato on my plate. Then I went in the garden and Charlie kept on bringing me to the swing chair that granny and granddad have. Instead I played with my remote control car and so this loop began. Charlie brought me to the chair, then I escaped when he wasn't looking, then Charlie noticed, he caught my finger in his iron clasp, brought me back to the swing and then it starts again.
Eventually we went to the beach where I found 5 stones that have crystals in them. There was one that had a huge hole and you could see all the crystal inside. Meanwhile, Charlie was throwing rocks around the rocky beach. Then we both went to some dogs and started petting them. The dogs were extremely nice! Then we went home and I played on the piano to play some more on the WII U. I did some jogging and was really observant. In total, I played 30 minutes on the WII U. When we went home, I chose some music to listen to and then I arrived home, watched some Doctor Who and then went to bed. I really enjoyed today!

Monday 8th of May 2017

Today I had a great day. First of all we had my favourite lesson, Maths. In it we did the bar method of dividing. So you have three bars, and in the top you have the number you are dividing by, in this case, 20. Then in the bar below it you divide it into the sections you are dividing the big number by which is 2 in this case and in the 2 or more sections you write that dividing number as a denominator of a fraction. This one would be ½. Finally, in the bottom bar, split it into the same sections as the middle bar but then divide the big number/20 by 2 which is 5, write them in the divided sections and then count up how many you need. That might no make sense so here is a picture of what I'm trying to say. I find it hard to explain.
Image result for maths Bar dividing#
Then we had Literacy. But not any sort of dull writing lesson but Oh no! We had a news report about evacuees! First of all we shot the outside interviews. This took along time because Zac kept forgetting his lines. We had take up to 75 scenes to get just 2 interviews done! When we finished we had to take 4 scenes inside. An introduction,  some information and 2 interviews. Yet we managed to do that quicker instead of the two outdoor interviews! Then later we are going to put them all in + edit them and then we'll have a news report. The problem is that the video, like the Newsround reports, has to be 1-2 minutes long.  I think there is a problem with our name, because its called THE REAL NEWSROUND and I think it could be a bit insulting to the BBC. Although I didn't want that name, I still got outvoted. But I did enjoy filming.

After lunch I had Topic which is about WW2. We learnt about how in World War 2 women got freedom. We had to make posters that should convince women to help in the war. The problem was that they lied about some bits. For example they didn't say they would see their lovely baby. I did a very could poster with neat handwriting. Finally we had SPaG. In SPaG we found long words and asked people what they mean and how to spell it. Sadly it wasn't the word Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious because that is hard to spell ad the meaning... well I'm not sure there is one. I really would like the word Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious to be in it. Finally, when school finished, I had some exercise at the park. First of all I played football with my friends Tyler, Jake and Luca. I didn't get many goals scored but I did score 8. Then I pushed some little kids on the swing and they really enjoyed it. I did as well. Finally, I played cricket and I managed to beat my friend 3-2. Then I went home and thought about everything that happened today. Bye for now!

Why I think Twenty-three is unlucky and why 9, 19, 29 ECT are lucky.

Warning:This may include really weird things that might be VERY confusing and might not have a lot to do with the subject I tell you about.

I have a superstition that twenty three is unlucky because if you divide it by itself you get one and if you take it away from 2 you get 1. then you add that on to the three and you get 13. The calculation goes like this: 23 divided by 23=1»10(23-20=3) 3+10=13. So now you see how I make it 13. Now let me tell you why I think the number is unlucky. I think that 23 is unlucky because every 23rd of march (AKA:3rd month of the year) Something I don't like happens. Today my gloves were stained with oil, my chain fell off my bike, the rowing club was blocking my way home and Charlie messed up my cards. My lucky number is 9 and everything that ends in nine because my favourite times tables is the 9 times tables, I win games on my 9th try, I have nine best friends, I have nine special limited edition toys and when I don't get to sleep, I count up in nine. These superstitions you might not believe these superstitions but I do believe in them for reasons only I want to share with myself.

The science museum sleepover

Yesterday my class had a sleepover  at the science museum. My first activity was to make a polygon night lamp. First, the paper was made into a Octahedron  and then we made it into a night lamp by putting batteries and a lamp inside to make it glow and change colour. Next we went down to the basement level and looked at how the Fibonacci numbers fit in with some animals. The animals we saw were snails, corn snakes, tortoises and cockroaches. Bees breed like this;1,1,2,3,5,8,13 and so on. One drone and one queen makes a drone and a queen. Then the queen makes a drone and the other drone makes a drone and a queen. In other words, a drone makes a drone and queen but a queen makes a drone. You get the pattern now, don't you?
The Fibonacci pattern works like this; It starts at one, and then you add the number before it, like this: 1+0=1 Then you add one to one and you get two. 2+1=3, 3+2=5, 3+5=8, 8+5=13 an so on. A nautilus has the same pattern on the shell as the Fibonacci pattern, as you can see here, on the diagram.
Image result for Fibonacci patternImage result for fibonacci pattern

It's the same with trees, too. They split into branches in the same numbers.

Then we had a maths treasure hunt were you had to look for certain devices and things in the new maths gallery. My team, that included Giovanni H, Naum, Nicholas, Serena, Noam and Mrs Morgan came in the top 30, which was quite bad, but not bad. There were 50 teams so we didn't come last. The good point is, we had lots of fun and learnt new things like the Globtik Tokyo (an oil carrier) has carried more things then any other ships.

Then we went to our floors as it was time to sleep. We were in the Who am I? section of the science museum. I washed my face and tried to get to sleep but it didn't work. So I read a book to try and tire myself out. Still, I was not sleepy. So then I counted all the lights that looked like stars and I counted at least fifty. But I was not tired. After a bathroom break, I went for a walk around that exhibit and did it about 10 times. Then I got a drink and talked to myself about what might happen tomorrow and how good it would be. While I thought about that, I managed to go to sleep.

The next day I woke up at 5 O'clock and waited for the others to wake up. When everybody woke up, we went to the IMAX theatre and watched a film about invisible things that are all around us. Things that are too small, too fast, too slow or unseeable light waves, that only special equipment can spot. Quick things like a drop of water can do things you don't get to notice. For example, the drop of water, when it hits the water, bounces back up and gets smaller and repeats that. A flower blooms very slowly and you can only see it if you have time lapse cameras. Then there are carbon atoms, which are too small and can be seen only with the best microscopes. Finally, there are waves of light, that are invisible and different waves can be seen with different cameras. Below are some pictures of what I explained about.

Then, last of all we went to the wonder lab, where you can discover some things you might not know about. They turned on the Tesla coil, which is a loud electric device. When you turn it on and you don't cover your ears your head really hurts. That happened to me today. The Tesla coil is pictured below. Other things include a strange thing where you either press 'sip' or 'spray' and unless the other person has done 'spray', then pressing 'spray' won't really work. Finally, there is also a friction slide, where you slide down on mats and you see how strong the friction is. There is a mini course where you build your own thing to slide down the mini astroturf ramp. I may have missed a lot of other things, but I listed my 3 favourites and what they do.

Well, I have finished this blog for now and I'll see you soon! Bye!

What good things are happening today

Today three good things are happening. One, a science museum sleepover, two, archaeology club and finally, Pokemon go. I will now tell you everything that is happening in chronological order.

1. Pokemon go
On the way to archaeology club, I might play Pokemon go. On the way there might be sort of common Pokemon but not rare. Usually, there are water Pokemon near my house and common Pokemon like Rattata or Pidgey. The rare Pokemon I usually find in bishops park. That's where archaeology club is. So, I have lots of fun on the way to archaeology club. If I am lucky, I might get a rare Pokemon like Kangaskan or Alakazam. That is why I like playing Pokemon go in the park.

2. Archaeology club
At archaeology club I learn all sorts of things about the history of Wandsworth and Fulham.  Today we are supposed to learn about Mummies. Not Egyptian Mummies, but other Mummies that were sacrifices to people like the Celts or the Picts of Scotland. It might also include us looking and picking what would be buried with these British Mummies.

3. Pokemon go ( again )

4. Science Museum sleepover (6:30 Pm Sat to Sun 6:30/10:00 Am)
At the science museum My class can walk around looking at the galleries and we will see all the galleries Because we are staying up until 11:00 Pm so it is likely we will see everything. Plus, in the morning we will watch something in the Imax theatre. I think it might be about Apollo 11, The ship that sent Neil Armstrong to the moon.

Well, those are my main highlights of today. I hope this might be a good day. It probably will be! Bye for now!

Why I like Pokemon Go

As I mentioned, one of my favourite games is Pokemon go. I will now tell you in this entry why I like Pokemon Go.

One reason is that you get good items, such as a variety of Pokeballs, potions, revives, luring devices, and bag storage.
Image result for pokemon go
Also, you can get different Pokemon such as common Pokemon, rare Pokemon, very rare Pokemon or in the middle Pokemon. Common Pokemon will appear almost everywhere, even in the desert or the sea. In the middle Pokemon are Pokemon that are common, but not too common, so a Pokemon such as Oddish is still common in certain places, but it does not appear everywhere. Then there are rare Pokemon, like Abra, Bulbasaur and Pikachu. They are not impossible to catch, but if you live in the right place, then it is possible. Finally, we have very rare Pokemon which are extremely hard to find, no matter where you live. It depends on how POPULAR the area where you live in or are in is. These Pokemon are Onix, Jynx, Rhyhorn, Wartortle and Gloom. The best places to get them are nests, or hatch them from eggs. If you find one in the wild then that is very rare and almost impossible.

My favourite reason is that you get to compete with your Pokemon in gym battles. You can fight your Pokemon in Gyms and you can get prizes and medals. My first Gym battle was on the day I started and it was bad.I had weak Pokemon and I lost the battle. Next time though, I was luckier, because I fought a level 279 Ditto with a level 729 Jynx, which was great, but my Jynx and Raticate were injured so I had to use a healing potion. My tip is you should practise before you fight in gyms because the Pokemon are usually above level 1,000.

Image result for pokemon gym battles
Well, goodbye for now, and next time I will tell you something else in my blog. Also, all the Pokemon listed in my entry apart from Ditto, I have caught on Pokemon go. Bye for now!😉😄😄😄

Thursday 9th march 2017

Today I had some good things and bad things. First of all, the good things were that I had a play date with my friend, Oliver. We played Lego and made a model of Gravity falls that got destroyed because of 'gravitational anomalies'. Then we went down stairs and my brother, Charlie, destroyed the model  No.2 so I decided to give up on the project. What was bad is that I fell over in the playground and hit my forehead. That is the 3rd time in 2 months. I fall over a lot and hurt myself. The last actual bad time was when I fell off the banisters and hit my chin.

My favourite games

Computer games

 1.Block city wars
Image result for block city warsImage result for block city warsRelated image
I like this game because you get brilliant items, get to earn prizes, and you can have lots of fun trying to survive! You can purchase all sorts of things and compete in races, survival games, and, best of all, you can compete online against other players to test how strong you are! To find out how to survive, go to my guide on how to survive in block city.

2. Dragonvale

I like this game because you get to hatch your dragons, help them grow up, compete them in events, and earn gems to upgrade things and even summon legendary dragons! If you want, you can turn dragon eggs into pedestals, but I like my dragons too much. Especially if they are rare, Because I may never get that dragon again! Also, depending on which season it is, you can buy and breed limited edition special dragons!

3.Pokemon go

I like Pokemon go because unlike other Pokemon games, You can catch them all in real life! What's better, is you can also have fun while you are exercising. You can also hatch eggs, collect items, and level up your Pokemon and while you do that, you get exercise! Note/downside: wears out battery very quickly so remember to bring a portable charger.

why I like sonic and mario 2012 olympics

When I went to after school club today I played Sonic and Mario 2012 Olympics. Here are my top favourite events, how I rate them, why I like or dislike them and the good things and bad things.
THESE ARE DREAM EVENTS!!!!!!
Dream Long jump:10/10 I like it because you can float and you have to avoid obstacles. Also, if you die, you get to be a rocket (not the one at the bottom) and tackle the people who survived. Bad thing: you have to watch out for obstacles. I managed to win this one. The next one is trickier...
Image result for sonic and mario 2012 olympics
Dream disc throw:8/10 it's OK but not exactly brilliant because it's proven to be very tricky to control.Still, very fun to do. It's better to use 4 players and not 3 more Com players.Good because it's quick and tests your reflexes.
Image result for sonic and mario 2012 olympics
Dream uneven bars: 9/10 when you get the hang of it.I also won this one.I like this one because the bars are uneven and challenging. The trickiest bits are aiming for the bar you want and to get on the moving bars. If you swing on them enough times you get points. Swing off when the bar goes blank like the one the player on the left is holding.
Image result for sonic and mario 2012 olympics dream disc throw
Dream sprint:5/10 It's very tricky to control and you have to act like a pinball machine because you are in a pinball machine. Very tricky to control because you have to figure it out. It's bad because you are likely to come last unless you know how to move it.
Image result for dream sprint
Dream football:10/10 brilliant! you get to be two people at a time and you have to score against robot goalies! My favourite bit is that you can use special moves.I have a tip; Use the special move when your near the goal.

Which is your favourite? Why? Comment and tell me why!🚀🚀🚀see you soon!🚀🚀🚀

How to survive in block city wars

1.Try to kill as many animals as possible without getting killed.
2.If you do, you can get better weapons like this one...
Image result for block city wars characters
3.Avoid the old city.Zombies damage you much more than any other threat!
4.Never,ever judge anyone by looks. Zombies are faster than they look.
5.When playing online, try to make yourself have a cool name. Then others won't kill you. Unless your on tank battle, street race, single missions or infection Z. Only free fight.
6.Never,ever (this is important) get free fight and single mission mixed up. Single is much easier.
7.Unless you don't listen to warnings, your brave, or extremely dumb, never go to old city in single missions.
Image result for block city wars transport
8.When doing street race, get the fastest car possible.
9.(this is a bit of a cheat) To get loads of money, the easiest way is to kill in single missions.
10. (Also a bit of a cheat) The best way to kill anything (apart from dogs, if you find one) is to run over them in a car or tank, shoot them with ammo from military boats/helicopters or tank.
11.When your vehicle is smoking, get out.(like the helicopter in the picture) But immediately get out if there is big, orange smoke on it. Probably not likely because if you do, then you are lucky.
12.When you do get out, have a jet pack so you can fly away.(handy if your in old city.)
13.In certain places, you can't use some of these rules.
14.When you have no ammo or low health, try to find some ammo or health or a jetpack to find these. Where Though?
15. The militiary and the aircraft carrier are good places to get supplies. If you survive...
16. Be cunning! think of clever plans. Also, kill business men to get good cash.
17.Find hidden coins! they help you get prizes.
18.To start off, use cars such as the minx or the buffalo. then you can ascend.
19. Show no mercy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
20.Enjoy the game! learn from your mistakes and seek revenge...
